Bollywood's IPL related superstitions

The seventh season of the Indian Premiere League has just kick started and loyalists from Bollywood are following the matches keenly. As team owners or just viewers, B-town celebrities have formed their own set of quirky superstitions for their teams to win.

Shah Rukh Khan

The Baadshah of Bollywood is the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders. His team bagged the coveted trophy in 2012. SRK has formed several superstitions for winning the IPL. Reportedly the actor has a set of lucky clothes, and so do his kids who accompany him to a few matches. Also Shah Rukh Khan considers his daughter Suhana very lucky for him and they generally end up winning a match when Suhana is around. 

Shilpa Shetty is the co-owner of Rajasthan Royals and has a silly belief when it comes to winning matches. This actress wears two watches at all matches, so that her team wins. At times she keeps her legs separated and at times they are crossed, Shilpa believes it will bring luck to her team. They did manage to sweep the first season, maybe because of Shilpa's superstitious behaviour. 

This bubbly actress is always cheering her team from the stands. Preity Zinta is the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab. As reported in Filmfare, Preity made it a custom to visit a temple before their matches. She also distributes 'prasad' among the team mates as divine blessings. Till now Kings XI Punjab has not been able to win the tournament. Maybe the actress needs to pray a bit harder. 

Amitabh Bachchan doesn't own any team but is a passionate follower of the game. He supports the Mumbai Indians team and doesn't want to see them lose. Hence Big B doesn't watch the live match, but a recorded one later. The actor reportedly revealed that whenever he watches a live match then a wicket falls. Standing strong by the superstition, Big B avoids enjoying the live excitement. 

Juhi Chawla, along with Shah Rukh Khan is the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders. The actress tries to be present at the matches, and when she does there are a lot of beliefs attached to it. Juhi Chawla has superstitions related to outfits and jerseys. If she is wearing one specific dress and they win the match, then she keeps repeating it for other ones too. Reportedly the actress also avoids giving interviews before a match completes, because when she did that once, KKR lost there.
